Turning Dream Pools into Reality. One Pool at a Time.
We begin with the land in front of us, not a shape we already like. Out here that means walking the parcel properly, because on an acre or more the question is rarely whether a pool fits. It is where the septic sits, where the well head is, how far power has to run and what the ground does when it rains. Every New River pool starts with that visit and a plan drawn for that one property.
Ready to talk it through? Start with a New River pool builder who understands well water, septic and county permits.
Meet Nate Green, Founder of Saturn Pool Company
Nate and his family have called the Valley home since 2003, and he has been building pools since 2004. Rural acreage has always been part of that work, and New River is exactly the kind of ground he prefers: room to design properly, and enough complication underground that it rewards doing it carefully. Twenty years on, he runs it the same way. Build it properly, price it honestly, answer your own phone.
It is why most of our New River work arrives by referral. Out here people ask their neighbors before they call anyone, and a pool that still looks right after ten summers argues better than anything we could write. Prepare to be excited.

What can Saturn Pools do for you?
Four things, done properly, for New River homeowners. Design leads, construction follows, and on rural land the groundwork underneath matters more than anywhere.
Custom Pool Design Services
Every Saturn pool begins as a conversation about your land rather than a page from a catalogue. On a New River parcel you usually have room for the pool you actually want, so the design question becomes placement instead of compromise. We map the septic tank, the leach field and its reserve area, the well head and the utility runs first, then site the pool where none of those become a problem later. Getting that order right is the whole job on acreage.
New Pool Construction
We build concrete, in-ground pools, the most durable shell available in desert ground. A poured shell copes with ground movement and heat swings in a way a prefabricated one cannot, and it leaves you free on shape, depth and size. Most builds run 8 to 12 weeks depending on scope, permits, inspections and weather. New River is unincorporated, so there is no city building department. Pools, spas and pool barriers are permitted through Maricopa County Planning and Development, which runs a digital plan review covering zoning, drainage and site conditions.
New Spa Construction
A spa can be lifted into the pool as a spillover feature or built on its own as a standalone retreat. Either route, it is drawn and poured within the same project, so tile, finish and decking read as one piece rather than an afterthought bolted on a year later. On a dark rural parcel with no street lighting and open desert past the fence line, a spa on a winter evening is about as good as an Arizona backyard gets. We size the plumbing and equipment for that from the outset.
Pool Features and Add-ons
This is where a pool stops being a rectangle of water. Water features, fire, lighting, shade and the surrounding deck all change how often the yard gets used. Acreage gives you room that a subdivision lot never will, so a ramada, a real outdoor kitchen or a generous deck can all sit properly instead of being squeezed in. We explain what each option costs to build and to run, then build the ones that earn their keep.

Schedule Your Free ConsultationA family business that never outgrew the family part.
Saturn Pools is family owned, and New River has been on our map since we started in 2004. Very little about how we operate has changed. The owner is on every job, a single call reaches design and sales together, and no question needs relaying through a department to get answered.
A pool is a serious long term investment and a New River build gets treated that way. We stay alongside you from the opening design conversation through to the final walkthrough, and we remain easy to reach long after the water goes in. Plenty of our customers date back to the early years, and their referrals still bring in most of what we build.

Steel, plumbing and gunite go underground the day after they are inspected. Nobody photographs that stage. It is also the part that decides whether your pool still looks right a decade from now. New River punishes carelessness underground more than most places we work. The ground is rock rather than soil, equipment and plumbing runs are long, and there is a septic system somewhere on the parcel that nothing may be built over. Shortcuts taken below grade always surface later.
Quality over volume
Plenty of builders quietly decline rural acreage, or price it as though it were a subdivision lot and discover the difference on site. We take on only the work we can supervise properly, and we quote New River parcels having actually walked them.
One call, one owner
One number reaches both sales and design. With a county submittal and a septic layout to work around, that saves a great deal of chasing.
Premium materials
Premium materials and proven methods, with the detail work checked before gunite covers it. Rock ground and long plumbing runs are unforgiving of a shell that was rushed.
A warranty that holds
The pool and its equipment carry a warranty, walked through with you and backed by each manufacturer. We are still reachable once the water is in.
Twelve communities. One crew.
We build across the Valley with one crew, and New River is a straight run north up the I-17. We work parcels from Table Mesa and Circle Mountain across to Desert Hills and down toward Anthem. Choose your city below to see the local build details that apply there.
You do not have to be ready to build. You just have to be ready to talk.
Three ways in, depending on how far along you already are. Every one of them is free.
Why New River owners keep sending us down the road to their neighbors.
Most of our work arrives by word of mouth, one New River parcel at a time. Referrals only happen when the build went well and the builder is still around afterward to take the call.
Two decades of building here
We have built here since 2004, across twenty summers and twenty monsoon seasons. Hundreds of customers on, the same people still handle design and construction.
Quality before volume
We would rather build fewer pools properly than spread crews across a packed calendar. Rock excavation and a septic layout to work around both go wrong when a job is hurried.
Answers, not a runaround
One call reaches both sales and design. We answer questions as they arise, and we cover what actually matters on a well and septic property, from filling the pool to where the backwash is allowed to go.
We do not disappear
The relationship does not end when the water goes in. If something needs attention two years down the line, the same team is still here to handle it.

If Anthem Pets referred you to Saturn Pools, and we build your pool, we’ll donate $100 to AP! And even if you don’t choose us, would you please consider a donation to a great organization that helps to care for our pet family?
FAQ for New River Residents
These are the questions New River owners ask us most. Because this is unincorporated county land where most properties run on a private well and a septic system, several of these answers look nothing like they would in town.
Price comes down to interior and decking materials, the equipment package, and features such as waterfalls, lighting and firepits. Rural land adds its own line items. The ground here is genuinely rocky, which lengthens excavation. Utility and plumbing runs are longer than on a subdivision lot, so trenching costs more. On the other hand you are not paying to squeeze a design into a narrow yard, and access for machinery is usually straightforward. We price the parcel, not a template.
A real figure needs a real look at the property. We walk the parcel, locate the septic and the well, check the ground and the access, then come back with pricing built around your land instead of an average.
Pool projects typically take 8 to 12 weeks once construction begins. Scheduling, scope, permits, inspections, material availability and weather all move that. Out here, rock is the usual reason an excavation runs longer than planned, which is why we assess it before quoting rather than discovering it on day three. County plan review is digital and reasonably predictable, and it covers zoning, drainage and site conditions together.
Maricopa County, not a city. New River is unincorporated, so there is no local building department and no town hall to visit. Pools, spas and pool barriers are their own permit category with Maricopa County Planning and Development, and the county works to the 2021 code cycle with its own amendments. Plan review is digital and looks at building code, zoning, drainage and site conditions together, so the submittal has to show the whole parcel properly rather than just the pool. We file it and manage the inspections.
You can, but most New River owners choose not to, and we would usually advise against it. Filling a pool takes a great deal of water in a short window, and drawing that from a domestic well in one go puts real strain on the pump and the aquifer. New River has had genuine trouble with wells over the years, so this is not a theoretical concern. The straightforward answer is a water hauling company, which delivers the fill by truck over a day or so. It is a known cost we build into the quote rather than a surprise at the end, and it leaves your well alone.
More than anything else on the property. Nothing may be built over the septic tank or the leach field, and the reserve area set aside for a future field has to stay clear as well, so between them they can take a sizeable bite out of the usable yard. Heavy machinery driving over a leach field can damage it even without building on it, which matters for access routes as much as pool placement. We locate the whole system before the design starts, and if the paperwork is old or missing we find it rather than guessing. Damaging a septic field is an expensive way to learn where it was.
Not into the septic system, which is the mistake worth avoiding. A septic system is sized for household wastewater, and a pool drain or a backwash cycle can overwhelm it and flood the leach field. Chlorinated water also kills the bacteria the system depends on to work at all. On a large parcel there is normally plenty of room to discharge somewhere sensible on your own land, well away from the field and the well head, without it running toward a neighbor or a wash. We plan that route during design and show you how to do it at handover.
It can, and it is worth knowing before you choose a finish. Well water in this area tends to be hard and mineral heavy, and depending on your well it may carry enough iron to stain a pale plaster surface over time. None of that stops you having the pool you want. It just means the interior finish, the startup chemistry and the ongoing treatment should be chosen with your water in mind rather than the municipal supply everyone else is on. We will talk through which finishes hide mineral staining better and what to expect in the first season.
